Skardu is the capital of Baltistan and serves as the gateway to some of the highest mountains in the world, including K2, the second tallest peak on Earth. Located at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers, Skardu offers a dramatic landscape of turquoise lakes, vast plateaus, ancient forts, and cold deserts. The town sits at 2,228 meters elevation surrounded by towering peaks on all sides. How to Reach

Skardu is reachable by road from Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway (18 to 22 hours). PIA operates flights from Islamabad to Skardu Airport.
